Hey this was a surprise. I look soooo young and I wasn't sweating like Ian. Scott Hamilton was 90% accurate. it was July 1990 and I was the AD of Wilton, CT and Ian Cron was AD of New Canaan. We werre the program directors and Roger Wilkin was the speaker. What a great month that was! I did go on to Fuller to finish my MDiv and MS in Marriage and Family not a PhD. I am currently a licensed Marriage and Family therapist working out of the Greenwich Center for Hope and Renewal and an interim pastor at Stanwich Congregational Church. We have gone as a family in 2007 and 2009 to Family Camp and it is incredible sharing Saranac with my young children. Saranac: the best place on earth!

Great story Dave - and you are in good company! What self-respecting waterfront staff has not created their own personal wading pool after dipping the bow? (The stalling of the engine is taking it to another level however. Way to do it up big!)

saranac to me is the place where i feel most alive. a glimpse of heaven. something unexplainable to those who have not been there, but something i never cease to try to do. saranac is the place that forever changed my relationship with Jesus, where i met life long friends, conquered fears and experienced pure joy. saranac is where God allowed me to be one of His vessels of the gospel to high school kids, all while living in community and working at a job that i grew to be so passionate about. its sailing on windy days, club talks, meals around the captains table, parasail rides in the rain, learning kids names, BFL, patching tubes, denim couches, rich history, laughing and serving one God with one purpose with the best people!
